Stephen is the RAEng / Man Group Professor of Machine Learning In Information Engineering. He leads the Machine Learning Research Group, was founding Director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Autonomous, Intelligent Machines and Systems (AIMS) and current Director of the Oxford-Man Institute. Stephen is Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor of Mind Foundry. His research focus lies in the theory and methodology of machine learning for large-scale real-world problems. He has successfully applied machine learning approaches to a wide range of problem domains including astronomy, biology, finance, engineering, control, sensor networks and system monitoring. His current interests include the application of machine learning in finance and the engineering industry as well as a range of theoretical and methodological problems.
